About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, focusing on food safety, guest experience, operational execution, labor management, and team member training. AGMs are responsible for building a culture of food safety, delivering exceptional guest service, managing inventory and prep, making data-driven decisions for labor and operations, and thoroughly training new hires. This role requires a strong leadership presence, a commitment to brand standards, and the ability to develop and motivate a team.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service-related business.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Have open availability and the ability to work flexible hours and all shifts as needed.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly with a can-do attitude.
  • Comes to work with good hygiene.
  • Has reliable transportation and able to arrive to work on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls and coach and train employees.
  • A positive, friendly, and courteous attitude.

  • Strong preference for an internal promote who has completed all required learning zone training and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enforce food safety standards, including checklists and proper procedures.
  • Ensure fast, friendly service and 100% accurate orders for every guest.
  • Coach the team in real-time and remove barriers to guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure 'Own Your Zone' cards are executed and manage prep and hold processes precisely.
  • Manage labor and inventory (ICOS) effectively by making data-driven decisions and adjustments.
  • Oversee and ensure the completion of all team member training plans.
  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately take their orders.
  • Prepare and package food and drink products according to restaurant standards.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments, and provide change to guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant.
  • Assist with food prep and dishwashing as needed.
  • Restock inventory and supplies.
  • Manage shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Participate in hiring and developing employees, guiding new team members during onboarding.
  • Assist with safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Report serious issues to management and HR.
  • Conduct food safety and prep audits daily.
  • Monitor daily inventory, performance, and cash procedures.
  • Assist with schedule creation and team deployment.
  • Monitor speed of service and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Monitor inventory and food preparation daily.
  • Responsible for daily inventory, deliveries, restaurant opening and closing, and daily adjustments to staffing and crew deployment.
