The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies. This role involves upholding and administering all theatre policies, training, developing, coaching, and supervising non-management employees, and performing all staff positions as required. The Assistant Manager will operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including hardware and software, and handle film as required. A working knowledge of all systems within the facility in Booth and Projection technology, including maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and related projection skills, is necessary. Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable is also a responsibility. The role includes monitoring risk management concerning employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident handling. Ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing all financial transactions including counting, depositing, and reconciling receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, discount tickets, etc.) are key duties. Compliance with the dress code and completion or progress in the management certification program are required. The Assistant Manager will be involved in interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, suspending, and, with oversight and HR consultation, terminating employees. Administering all applicable HR paperwork and upholding company policies are essential. Cost control, including purchasing and ordering concession and café stock, managing supplies, and inventory/auditing processes are part of the role. Supervising theatre maintenance, performing minor repairs, and coordinating for larger maintenance concerns are also included. Marketing and promotions of feature film engagements, scheduling movie show times, and ensuring timely delivery of show times to all channels are required. Additionally, the Assistant Manager must read and understand training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination. Additional duties may be assigned by the GM or other senior management.
