About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in running day-to-day convenience store operations and helps maintain a high level of customer service and store performance. The role requires open availability, including weekends and holidays, and work primarily on second or third shifts. The Assistant Manager may act as manager when the Store Manager is absent and helps lead, schedule, train, and motivate the store team. Duties also include register operation, inventory and ordering, merchandising, store cleaning and maintenance, cash handling, deposits, and oversight of store financials.

Requirements

• Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
• Comfort with cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas such as fuel pumps.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Proficient in English and possess basic math skills.
• Willingness to learn.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
• Operate the register and assist customers promptly, accurately, and courteously.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing, customer-service-focused team.
• Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure coverage.
• Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
