About The Position

The Assistant Manager, also known as a Client Happiness Hero & Master of Multitasking, is responsible for assisting customers with renting units in-person, via phone, and through other advertising/marketing opportunities. This role enhances sales through rentals, insurance, and moving supplies, and provides excellent customer service by identifying storage needs and offering solutions. The Assistant Manager guides new customers through rental processes, resolves issues professionally and positively, and maintains the daily cleanliness and organization of the office, restrooms, grounds, and vacant units. They also keep well-organized records, perform minor maintenance tasks, and conduct regular property inspections. Additionally, the role involves shopping local competitors, reporting gathered information to supervisors, performing additional marketing functions, monitoring rates, specials, and revenue-related factors, and performing daily administrative tasks including handling cash, balancing receipts, pursuing collections, posting payments, processing daily bank deposits, and completing auctions. If at a participating location, the Assistant Manager will assist tenants with completing, processing, and returning rentals through programs such as U-Haul, Penske, or company-owned rental trucks. The property hours are Monday & Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Wednesday: Closed, Thursday & Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Saturday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, and Sunday: Closed. This is a part-time position of approximately 24 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • A background screening will be conducted at time of hire.
  • For positions that involve driving, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sales or retail environment preferred
  • Experience in fast-paced, customer service-related environment preferred
  • Property Manager: At least one year of experience in property management experience preferred

Responsibilities
