About The Position

The Assistant Manager, also known as the Client Happiness Hero & Master of Multitasking, is responsible for assisting customers with renting units in-person, via phone, and through other advertising/marketing opportunities, while enhancing sales through rentals, insurance, and moving supplies. This role involves providing excellent customer service by identifying storage needs and offering solutions, guiding new customers through rental processes, and resolving issues professionally and positively. The position also requires maintaining the daily cleanliness and organization of the office, restrooms, grounds, and vacant units, keeping well-organized records, and performing minor maintenance tasks and regular property inspections. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will shop local competitors, report gathered information to supervisors, perform additional marketing functions, monitor rates, specials, and revenue-related factors, and handle daily administrative tasks including cash handling, balancing receipts, collections, posting payments, processing bank deposits, and completing auctions. At participating locations, assistance with rental truck services may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • At least one year of experience in property management experience preferred
  • A background screening will be conducted at time of hire.
  • For positions that involve driving, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sales or retail environment preferred
  • Experience in fast-paced, customer service-related environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with renting units in-person, via phone, and through other advertising/marketing opportunities; enhance sales through rentals, insurance and moving supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service by identifying storage needs and offering solutions; guide new customers through rental processes
  • Resolves issues professionally and positively
  • Maintain daily cleanliness and organization of the office, restrooms, grounds, and vacant units; keep well-organized records and perform minor maintenance tasks and regular property inspections to ensure timely and consistent completion
  • Shop local competitors in-person and online; report information gathered, including rates and specials, to supervisors and other departments; perform additional marketing functions as needed
  • Monitors rates, specials, and revenue-related factors
  • Perform required daily administrative tasks including handling cash, balancing receipts, pursuing collections, posting payments, processing daily bank deposits and completing auctions according to policy and laws
  • If at a participating location, assist tenants with completing, processing and returning rentals through programs such as U-Haul, Penske, or company-owned rental truck services.
