About The Position

The Assistant Warehouse Manager position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the warehouse on their designated shift. This includes scheduling warehouse worker hours, inbound and outbound loading, inventory control, maintenance of warehouse equipment, and warehouse housekeeping. Requirements

  • Warehouse management experience with additional background in Inventory Control Systems.
  • Solid experience in Excel, data entry, and general computer skills.
  • Experienced in managing a staff of 30 or more employees and multiple shifts.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse operation.
  • Good communication.

  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of management experience.
  • Experienced in Warehousing Management

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree Preferred or extensive background in transportation warehouse management

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility performs yard checks, including checking all trailers in dock doors and in yard for empties and loads.
  • Make sure yard has no trailers parked in such a way as to hinder movement of the other trailers.
  • Ensures all paperwork from previous day’s work is complete and distributed to proper departments.
  • Oversees loading/unloading of all carriers.
  • Make sure trailers are emptied and available for local drivers.
  • Conducts periodic dock safety checks.
  • Keeps track of warehouse customer’s inventory by computer and complete physical inventory counts.
  • Ensures timely processing of warehouse customer orders, bill preparation and inventory control.
  • Oversee the picking of orders from the warehouse and the staging or loading of the orders.
  • Ensures proper scheduling of carriers to pick up warehouse customer orders as directed by the customers.
  • Managing warehouse personnel, scheduling work hours, personnel issues, performance reviews, and all disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure all training of fork-lift operators on the procedures for handling company freight and specific requirements for handling customer’s freight.
  • Manage warehouse space and maximize usage of warehouse layout.
  • Ensure warehouse is kept clean and organized at all times, and know that all food safety requirements are met.
