This role involves supporting the store manager in fostering a sales-driven culture, ensuring exceptional in-store customer experiences, and driving outside sales through commercial accounts and new business development. It also includes assisting with operations such as visual standards, pricing, planograms, inventory control, store maintenance, fleet compliance, accounts payable reconciliations, and scheduling. The Assistant Manager will also be involved in coaching and developing team members, setting goals, creating development plans, conducting appraisals, leading meetings, resolving customer concerns, and managing recruitment and training. Furthermore, the role requires mentoring team members, motivating them through recognition programs, fostering positive partnerships with the Commercial sales team to drive profitability, maintaining performance expectations, and assisting in implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to support the coaching and development of teams.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience or interest in managing and growing B2B sales.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a drive to succeed.
  • Availability to work retail hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Successful candidates will need to complete employment verifications.
  • Successful candidates will need to complete a criminal background check.

  • Fundamental computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the store manager in fostering a sales-driven culture and ensuring exceptional in-store customer experiences.
  • Assist in driving outside sales through commercial accounts and new business development.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with visual standards, pricing, planograms, and inventory control.
  • Support the store manager with store maintenance, fleet compliance, accounts payable reconciliations, and scheduling.

  • Help lead meetings, resolve customer concerns, manage recruitment and training.
  • Mentor team members and motivate them through recognition programs.

  • Support achieving personal and store sales goals.
  • Help maintain budget targets for sales, shrink, payroll, and expenses.
  • Excel in Store Audits with a 95% achievement rate.
