The Assistant Manager is responsible for operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing product, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, and cleaning the equipment and facility. Training is provided on the job. This role requires strong communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and give written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers. Essential functions include accurate and quick mathematical calculations, making correct monetary change, verbal, writing, and telephone skills, motor coordination for precise movements, and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The work environment involves exposure to varying weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations, food odors, commercial dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces/tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensing requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Physical demands include extensive standing and walking on various surfaces, with work surfaces generally between 36" and 48". Lifting of bulk products weighing up to 60 pounds is required, with stacking up to 72" high. Carrying large cans (up to 3 lbs 7 oz) and occasionally pizza sauce (30 lbs) or trays of pizza dough (approx. 12 lbs each) is necessary. Pushing is required for moving trays on dollies. Climbing stairs or ladders may be required infrequently. Stooping/bending is necessary at the pizza assembly station and for other tasks. Crouching/squatting is performed occasionally for stocking and cleaning. Reaching continuously (up, down, and forward) is required for various tasks, including operating oven controls and stocking shelves. Hand tasks are continuous and require eye-hand coordination, including frequent and/or forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping pizza dough, and pinching for assembling pizza boxes. Team members must be able to grasp various items. Machines, tools, and equipment used may include pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel. Additionally, the role involves delivering product by car to customers, which requires a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, access to an insured vehicle, navigational skills, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain and multi-story buildings while carrying product. Physical demands for delivery include carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages, driving within a designated area, and walking to and from the delivery vehicle to the customer's location. Climbing may involve navigating five or more flights of stairs. Work conditions for delivery include exposure to varying weather conditions.
