About The Position

The Assistant Manager position involves a variety of tasks including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. Team members are provided with on-the-job training. Communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and coworkers, both verbally and in writing. The role requires accurate mathematical skills for transactions and the ability to use computer systems. Navigational skills are necessary for deliveries, including navigating adverse terrain and multi-story buildings. Work conditions can vary, including exposure to different weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations, food odors, and cornmeal dust. Some tasks involve working in cramped quarters or near hot surfaces and sharp edges. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, walking for deliveries, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, pushing carts, and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders. Stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching are also part of the job. Driving to deliver pizzas within a designated area is a key responsibility, requiring a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and an insured vehicle. Hand tasks requiring eye-hand coordination are continuous, including shaping dough, using tools, and assembling boxes.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Must have access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
  • Must possess navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Talking and hearing on telephone.
  • Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Far vision and night vision for driving.
  • The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgements and decisions.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Walking for short distances for short durations.
  • Lifting bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) and stacking them.
  • Carrying large cans (3 lbs 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 pounds), and trays of pizza dough (approx. 12 pounds per tray).
  • Carrying pizzas and beverages during deliveries.
  • Pushing to move trays on dollies.
  • Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
  • Forward bending at the waist.
  • Crouching/Squatting occasionally.
  • Reaching continuously (up, down, and forward).
  • Eye-hand coordination is essential.
  • Use of hands is continuous during the day.
  • Frequent and/or forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping pizza dough.
  • Manipulate a pizza peel.
  • Frequent and/or forceful pinching for assembling cardboard pizza boxes.
  • Grasp cans, the phone, the pizza cutter and pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
  • Utilize pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter and pizza peel.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
