About The Position

Honda Logistics North America (HLNA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Logistics Inc (HLI), a global supply chain and logistics company based in Japan. HLNA is the holding company for our US based operating companies and as such provides direction and support in the areas of IT, procurement, sales, finance, compensation, HR Policy, Organizational Development, legal and compliance, audit and future innovation and planning strategies. We support global initiatives of HLI by providing efficient and compliant services and information from our regional companies activities supporting our customers at American Honda Motor and Honda Development and Manufacturing of America.

Requirements

  • Post-high school education (2- or 4-year degree in Operations Management, Business or related field) or equivalent experience desired.
  • 5+ years' experience in a warehouse management environment or other management areas.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating teams in manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Able to interact professionally within the company with our customers and associates.
  • Able to lead project teams and present information to management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, Holidays, weekends or overtime as needed.
  • Excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Support business plan goals; develop and monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Ensure appropriate manpower planning and budgeting for efficient operations are in place and required resources are available to meet customer and corporate requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all members of the department.
  • Solve problems and resolve issues and concerns that impact operational performance (quality, safety, finance, associate relations).
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Manage departmental new model activities.
  • Maintain all regulatory and compliance requirements of the department.
  • Ensure consistent and professional communication with our customer and associates at all times.
  • Manage projects and provide guidance when needed.
  • Develop Supervisors, section leaders and associates.
  • Monitor safety results and report as needed; assist in the development of safety-related countermeasures.
  • Anticipate potential problems and apply solutions and preventative measures.
  • Act as a role model for all associates in all aspects of the job (safety, production, quality, attendance, housekeeping, etc.).
  • Achieve daily production targets.
  • Continuously improving overall department content and activities.
  • Ensure all daily and monthly reports are completed on time.
  • Communicate effectively to peers and Assistant Manager.
  • Computer skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Be actively supportive of the Associate Training Program and NC Circle Program.
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce safety policies.
  • Participate in and administer disciplinary actions.
  • Interview candidates.
  • Support and direct daily company production and projects.
