About The Position

Looking for a leader to become the foundation of our Tropical Smoothie Cafe family in Hampton with potential to grow into a bigger role. The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the FOH and BOH operations of the Cafe. The manager will spend significant time performing managerial duties, as well as some back of house cooking/smoothie functions. Key responsibilities include helping with hiring, managing staff, training new and current staff and disciplining restaurant team members whenever necessary. The assistant manager is responsible for ensuring excellent guest experience, the safety of our guests, team members and property, and product quality. The position will lead and develop the assistant manager to drive catering and increase sales. The assistant manager must hit operational and sales goals for the Cafe, as well as operate within brand standards.

Requirements

Ability to train and coach crew members and develop future leaders
Experience with ordering from vendors, receiving orders and inventory control
Knowledge of labor, food cost and other cost management for operation
Ability to oversee day to day operations of a restaurant
Two or more years of restaurant experience, including progressive supervisory experience
Legally able to work within the State and Federal guidelines
Valid driver’s license
Ability to multi-task and remain positive in sometimes stressful working conditions
Serve Safe Certified required (or willing to get certification within 60 days)
Ability to oversee day to day operations of a restaurant
Knowledgeable and proficient in each position within the cafe
Successful completion of the Cafe Basics, Certified Trainer, and Crew Leader Training Programs
Comply with the Tropical Smoothie Cafe uniform and personal hygiene polices for each shift

Responsibilities

Leading the FOH and BOH operations of the Cafe
Performing managerial duties, as well as some back of house cooking/smoothie functions
Helping with hiring, managing staff, training new and current staff and disciplining restaurant team members
Ensuring excellent guest experience, the safety of our guests, team members and property, and product quality
Leading and developing the assistant manager to drive catering and increase sales
Hitting operational and sales goals for the Cafe, as well as operating within brand standards
Operating in impeccably clean, efficient and organized restaurant environments
Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new Crew Members
Managing and delegating daily functions of the café including prepping product, making food and smoothies, serving customers, and completing daily and weekly cleaning duties
Leading and coaching staff during each shift to ensure brand standards are upheld
Managing the brand experience, including hospitality, quality control, and speed of service
Ensuring all safety and security policies are being followed
Monitoring sales growth and cost control of the store against the budgeted expectation and historical performance to maximize profitability
Leading marketing and promotional campaigns
Executing marketing and sales programs following guidelines
Hiring and training cross functional Team Members
Managing labor to ensure proper staffing levels to meet the budget and sales strategy
Creating a Schedule that meets labor goals while making sure the store is running to standards
Managing the inventory and par levels weekly
Conducting inventory weekly
Ensuring equipment is operable to execute brand standards
Driving servsafe compliance and proper food handling procedures
Performing any additional tasks necessary to run the store
