About The Position

Legacy Coffee is seeking an Assistant Manager to serve as a key leader within the coffee shop. This role involves supporting the Coffee Shop Manager in daily operations and team development. The Assistant Manager will become fully cross-trained in management responsibilities to confidently oversee the shop when the manager is unavailable. This position also involves leading by example behind the bar, creating an exceptional customer experience, supporting baristas, and helping maintain the culture and mission of Legacy Coffee. A significant aspect of the role is serving as a spiritual leader and mentor, particularly for the women on the team, helping cultivate an environment that reflects the values of Long Hollow Church. The Assistant Manager will assist with onboarding and training new team members, coaching baristas on various standards, and helping resolve team concerns. Operational duties include assisting with scheduling, inventory management, ordering, operational planning, ensuring opening/closing procedures are followed, maintaining shop cleanliness, and assisting with financial tasks such as tracking expenses, organizing documentation, and monitoring product usage for cost savings. The role emphasizes leading from the front, interacting with guests, creating a welcoming environment, addressing customer concerns professionally, and ensuring excellent service that reflects Christian hospitality. Maintaining high standards for beverage quality and customer service, training team members on operational standards, and developing systems for consistency are also key responsibilities. Reinforcing accountability and attention to detail among staff is expected.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience in coffee, hospitality, retail, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and develop others with humility, grace, and accountability
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Specialty coffee experience
  • Experience training and coaching employees
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting, expense tracking, and administrative tasks
  • Experience leading teams within a ministry or church environment
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to lead with grace and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all opening, closing, and daily operational procedures are completed properly
  • Help maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and operational excellence
  • Assist with tracking expenses and maintaining accurate records
  • Help organize receipts, invoices, and financial documentation
  • Support the Manager with bill management and budget-related tasks
  • Monitor product usage and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency
