The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager sets an example for the crew and is expected to follow all policies and procedures while holding the team to the same standards. This role involves leading a shift team of approximately 3 to 25 people, motivating employees, and maintaining high standards for punctuality, attitude, customer service, and appearance. The schedule is described as pretty flexible, but the Assistant Manager must be willing to work when the team needs them most. The position includes in-store work and may involve outside tasks, with exposure to varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical duties include standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and frequent reaching and hand use.
