About The Position

Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their team. This role involves assisting in the management of restaurant operations, overseeing staff, ensuring inventory control, and providing superior product quality and customer service. The Assistant Manager will interact with customers to ensure a positive dining experience, maintain professional relationships with landlords, tenants, and suppliers, and assist with administrative tasks such as ordering, inventory, and store accounting. Adherence to company policies, restaurant specifications, and food/beverage regulations is crucial. The position requires working a minimum of 50 hours per week, motivating the crew, and assisting with hiring, terminations, promotions, and disciplinary actions. English comprehension skills are necessary for safety, job instructions, policy, and guest service. A ServSafe Manager certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

  • Must have English comprehension skills for purposes of safety, job instructions, policy, and guest service.
  • Must have current ServSafe Manager certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, touch, climb, lift, and read (see) for extended periods of time (8 hours+).
  • Must be able to regularly and safely lift and move boxes, supplies, and materials weighing 25 lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes limited movement environment.
  • Must be able to maintain sanitation, food safety, and other food service environment requirements.
  • Must be able to use, mix and store safely all chemicals, hazardous products and cleaning materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of operations in a specific restaurant.
  • Oversee the staff, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Ensure inventory control, supplies and proper use of equipment.
  • Provide superior product quality and customer service.
  • Interact with customers to ensure they obtain a superior dining experience.
  • Lead and direct the work of others.
  • Keep a positive professional relationship with landlords, tenants and suppliers at all times.
  • Assist GM and AGM with ordering, inventory and store accounting paperwork, etc.
  • Act in accordance with company policies, restaurant specifications and food/beverage regulations.
  • Take appropriate action to correct all company and regulatory violations.
  • Work a minimum of 50 hours per week, motivating crew and helping out if necessary.
  • Assist GM and AGM with hiring, terminations, promotions and disciplinary actions.
