About The Position

The Assistant Manager role encompasses a range of duties typical for hourly store team members, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, and taking inventory. The position also involves daily cleaning of equipment and the facility. Training is provided on the job. Essential skills include accurate and quick mathematical calculations, making correct monetary change, strong verbal, writing, and telephone communication for order processing, and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The work environment involves exposure to varying weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. For those in driver or store management positions, additional duties include delivering product by car and to the customer's door, and delivering flyers and door hangers. This requires a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, access to an insured vehicle, navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain while carrying product. Physical demands for delivery personnel include carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages during delivery, driving within a designated area, traveling between the store and the vehicle and to the customer's location, and potentially climbing five or more flights of stairs. Exposure during delivery includes varying weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
  • Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver product by car and then to door of customer.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
