About The Position

At JUUT Salonspa, we believe in the power of Daymaking—creating meaningful experiences for guests, teams, and communities. For more than 40 years, JUUT has been a leader in Aveda salon culture, known for artistry, purpose, and people-first leadership. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Salon Manager to support salon operations, lead Guest Services teams, and help deliver an exceptional guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys coaching people, driving results, and contributing to a positive, professional environment. The Assistant Salon Manager partners closely with the Salon Manager to support daily operations, lead Guest Services teams, and ensure exceptional guest experience. You will regularly serve as Manager-on-Duty, develop leadership skills, and gain operational insight needed to prepare for future Salon Manager opportunities within JUUT. This role blends people leadership, customer experience, and operational execution in a creative, service-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Currently (or recently) in a supervisory role leading a team in a customer service environment
  • Enjoy developing people and building strong teams
  • Interested in growing into a Salon Manager role over time
  • Thrive in fast-paced, guest-focused environments
  • Communicate clearly, lead with empathy, and value accountability
  • Available to work a salon schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Leadership or management experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or service-based environments
  • Strong customer service, communication, and team-building skills
  • Ability to multitask and lead effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic computer tools
  • Willingness to take initiative and model JUUT’s values and standards
  • Availability to work a salon schedule, including nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Salon, retail, hospitality, or service-industry leadership experience preferred.
  • Beauty industry experience is a plus—but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily salon operations and step into Manager-on-Duty responsibilities
  • Coach, train, and develop Guest Service Specialists
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance development
  • Assist with labor planning, scheduling, and front-of-house budgeting
  • Help resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care
  • Collaborate with the Salon Manager on goals, performance metrics, and team communication
  • Lead by example through regular front desk shifts
  • Participate in leadership meetings, education, and development programs
