About The Position

The Cashiering Assistant Shift Manager assists the shift manager in overseeing daily operations of a shift. The role ensures that procedures and Internal Controls are followed, reviews schedules for proper staffing, administers discipline when necessary, and works closely with other internal departments. The Assistant Shift Manager oversees the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager. The role requires maneuvering throughout the casino, working at an assigned desk, and operating office and counting equipment. The employee must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations, work all shifts, and function well without direct supervision. A non-key gaming permit is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work all shifts and work well without direct supervision.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at the assigned desk area.
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must obtain a non-key gaming permit.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge in the operation of adding machines, computer terminals, and counting equipment is helpful.
Three to five years of experience in gaming, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, preferred.
