About The Position

Responsible for providing leadership, training and guidance to staff Radiation Therapists, supporting the manager, and support staff and performing complex and specialized radiation oncology work. Assists the manager in identifying problems, recommending solutions and assisting in the improvement of technical and patient service programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and delegated management duties related to daily operational, department productivity, patient safety, clinical effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Working in the clinic performing radiation treatment and patient simulation as necessary.
  • Assisting in the supervision of patient care under the direction of the department manager through competent technical activities of self and staff. Demonstrates knowledge of treatment processes and all equipment.
  • Observing radiation safety measures for patient and staff.
  • Assisting in the development of the department budget and monthly variance review.
  • Supporting an HRO culture and assisting in establishing and updating department policies.
  • Participating with manager in staff performance improvement and compliance.
  • Modeling and fostering an environment of professionalism and employee engagement.
  • Assisting with new skill training and ongoing competency. Promoting shared decision making and working to encourage staff participation in activities such as outreach and AH wellness.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
