About The Position

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is currently seeking an Assistant Manager for our Paint & Powdercoat Department. As an Assistant Manager you will drive production flow and material coordination, directly impacting our throughput and ensuring we hit our on-time delivery targets every time. From advanced surface preparation to highly technical finishing processes, we can handle the smallest pieces to large parts over 30 feet long. Our three shifts of skilled professionals in our 125,000 square foot facility have made us the vendor of choice for metal finishing for Northeastern United States. Whether it is electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, or powder coat, we finish it right the first time!

Requirements

• Previous experience in production or manufacturing supervisory role preferred.
• Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and/or ideas professionally across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to problem-solve issues to their root cause and work to implement corrective action.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Proven experience leading successful teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Paint & Powdercoat team, ensuring they remain on task with high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure job targets are met.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Help to keep employees on task and promote increased throughput by assisting with racking, prepping, inspecting, material handling, and by gathering proper paperwork and materials needed.
• Identify and resolve any issues or inefficiencies in the Paint & Powdercoat Process such as incorrect paperwork - communicate with engineering and the quality team on changes needed or missing documentation.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
• Oversee the Paint & Powdercoat processes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure all team members have the necessary supplies and tools to complete their jobs efficiently and plan ahead to ensure there are no gaps in production and/or down time.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed.
• Review and interpret detailed work order instructions to guide the team in accurately painting parts according to specifications.
• Ensure work orders are followed meticulously to maintain high-quality standards.
• Assist with shipping coordination (matching paperwork, working with drivers, obtaining BOLs).
• Respond to customer inquiries.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
