About The Position

The Assistant Manager Recreation will work closely with the Recreation leadership. The primary responsibility of the Recreation Assistant Manager is to ensure that guest and member service standards are met. The role of Recreation Assistant Manager requires excellent listening skills, eagerness to provide excellent service, as well as skills training Recreation Attendants. Flexibility in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the operation, additional hours may be required. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with staff, guests, and members at a high-level.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft office (including PowerPoint and Excel) and Internet navigation.
  • Excellent analytical ability, knowledge in research methods and basic statistics to analyze data and formulate conclusions and action steps from results.
  • Insightful approaches and methods for delivering competencies and skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Be over the age of eighteen with a valid driver’s license, with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with and sense of positive customer service.
  • Experience with and ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent skills in task management and prioritization.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently and take initiative.
  • Skilled in problem identification and resolution.
  • Endurance for long hours in an active, stressful production setting with the ability to work outdoors in possibly extreme heat or in wet weather.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an efficient, timely, and accurate reservation process for rentals, pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of product use.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of associated charges.
  • Ensure an efficient and superior quality experience for guests and members rental pickup and return.
  • Responsible for the organization of, and cleanliness of bicycles, ski equipment, and departmental equipment.
  • Maintains well organized and attractive distribution points.
  • Oversee and organize property sweeps to pick up all rentals and equipment not returned.
  • Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the operation.
  • Assist Special Event personnel in the setup of events.
  • Organize and schedule staff to meet operational demands.
  • Sourcing supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of their given areas.
  • Development of Recreation Attendants through a coaching and mentoring role.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, department Leadership team, Senior Leadership, Director of Retail.
  • Build positive relationships with all levels of Leadership and line-level Associates as to promote collaboration and teamwork.
  • Responsible for the flow of communication with peers, management and the Recreation Manager.
  • Delegate/Supervise all departmental specific training programs and the maintenance of accurate records to Training Specialist.
  • Responsible for all departmental Guest Service and Hospitality training.
  • Supervise all departmental Safety & Security Initiatives and Corporate Compliance training.
