The Assistant Manager of Health Wellness Home supervises and coordinates the activities of employees, ensuring that customer needs are met. This role is accountable to the District Store Director and Store Manager and has direct reports for all positions except those otherwise designated. The position requires maintaining a positive attitude, fostering a friendly and fun atmosphere, and providing excellent customer service. The Assistant Manager is responsible for upholding Hy-Vee's core values, including honesty, integrity, friendliness, and caring. They will oversee employee training, handle employee issues, and coordinate disciplinary procedures. Additionally, this role assists management with pricing, display placement, product quality, and departmental profitability. Compliance with accounting procedures, store maintenance, sanitation, and cleanliness are also key responsibilities. The Assistant Manager must be proficient with store technology, assist with labor scheduling, and evaluate employee performance to recommend personnel actions. Safety procedures are to be trained and enforced to ensure a safe work environment. This role directs merchandise ordering, coordinates employee compliance with policies and laws, and assists with merchandising tasks. Problem-solving related to job duties and productivity is essential, along with adherence to company policies and store guidelines. Secondary duties include determining employee motivational needs, recruiting and interviewing applicants, staying current with market trends, providing continuous education to employees, and assisting in all areas of the store as needed. This role also involves working with department heads on various operational aspects, selling merchandise, handling cash registers, and performing other related duties.
