Assistant Manager of Food Services
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Manager of Food Services, the Assistant Manager of Food Services will be responsible for managing concession operations in the absence of the Food Service Manager. This role involves supervising subordinate staff, including training and directing, and assisting with scheduling and evaluations. The Assistant Manager will also serve as an on-site observer for quality control, handle register openings and closings, prepare daily paperwork, and assist with inventory and ordering. A key responsibility is ensuring guest concerns are addressed promptly and professionally, while adhering to all safety procedures and supporting the Park District's safety program.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in food sales and customer service.
- Computer and POS experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
- ANSI approved food manager and BASSETT certifications or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in business, hospitality management, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Exceptional service record in the field may substitute for part or all of degree preference.
- Additional experience of personnel management, inventory control, and bookkeeping is preferred.
