About The Position

The Assistant Manager I supports the Store Manager with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists with daily store activities, merchandise flow and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, ordering and processing merchandise, store records, loss prevention, and maintaining company standards for store organization and cleanliness. It also helps supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and promotes a safe, respectful, and professional environment for customers and employees. This is a part-time position at Dollar Tree in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor as needed, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store-related communications.
Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist with ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies and procedures, and ensure store associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment and professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
