About The Position

The Assistant Manager I is a core member of Sunglass Hut’s leadership team and partners with the Store/Multi Store Manager to oversee the store’s daily functions, including selling, coaching, merchandising, talent acquisition, and retail excellence. The role uses company tools and business reporting to achieve sales plans and objectives, develop associates, improve performance, and maintain customer relationships and brand standards. The position is based in a Sunglass Hut shop-in-shop inside a Bass Pro store.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Expertise in every aspect of store operations.
• Detail-oriented.
• Uses critical thinking to execute store operational components.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service and/or retail experience.
• At least 1 year of previous leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Use company tools to deliver the sales plan, develop associates, and achieve company objectives.
• Use reporting tools and business acumen to identify performance gaps and capitalize on successes.
• Coach associates to support their growth and development and create an inspirational, motivating work environment.
• Acquire talent through networking, recruiting, and interviews in partnership with the Store/Multi Store Manager.
• Pursue self-development as defined in an individual development plan.
• Spend a majority of the time on the sales floor.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships by maximizing company tools.
• Consistently execute brand standards.
• Maintain store merchandising standards, including updates and changes.
• Maintain product knowledge and use company learning tools to stay current on fashion and performance products.
• Ensure execution of operational policies and procedures.
• Clearly communicate brand strategy, promotions, contests, and incentives to the team.
