About The Position

The Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree assists the Store Manager in leading store associates and creating positive customer and community experiences, with a focus on merchandising and freight processing. The role supports store operations, maintains company standards for the stockroom and sales floor, and helps ensure the store is clean, safe, sales-effective, and welcoming. It also assists with merchandise receiving, freight flow, ordering and stocking, and sales planning. Other duties may be assigned, and job duties may be modified to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain the stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
• Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated products, in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
