About The Position

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists with daily store activities, merchandise handling and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, record keeping, ordering, loss prevention, and maintaining company standards for the sales floor, stockroom, and overall store cleanliness. The Assistant Manager helps the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates, protects company assets, and helps ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment for customers and employees. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications about store activities.
Maintain the promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged merchandise processing, record keeping—including payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits, and receipts—and loss prevention.
Maintain the sales floor and stockroom to company standards, including keeping the sales floor well stocked and the stockroom organized.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies and procedures, and ensure store associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
