About The Position

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Manager I to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists the Store Manager with daily store activities, merchandise handling and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, record keeping, loss prevention, and maintaining company standards for the sales floor and stockroom. The Assistant Manager helps supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and contributes to a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff. The position also includes maintaining store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and taking out the trash. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor as needed, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain the promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist with ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits, and receipts), and loss prevention.
Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and ensure Store Associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Maintain positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and keeping areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
