Reporting to the Beverage Manager, the Assistant Beverage Manager is to assist the Beverage Manager in providing direction and leadership for the Beverage Service team consistent with the Palms brand. This role involves directing smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operations, including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services, scheduling, and inventory control. The Assistant Beverage Manager ensures all departmental service standards are upheld and manages Human Resources responsibilities for assigned departments to create a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. This includes quality hiring and training in compliance with Company policies, legal requirements, and Collective Bargaining Agreements. The position also ensures the maintenance and cleanliness of outlets with a specific focus on departmental and SNHD food safety standards, OSHA, Fire and Life Safety Regulations. The Assistant Beverage Manager is responsible for maintaining employee license requirements, attendance, payroll records, and files, as well as a working relationship with the Culinary Union. They create daily floor plans based on the schedule for managers to use as a tool when overseeing the casino floor, edit and track employee’s time, and post all bids, memos, and schedules in a timely manner. The role assists with all processes and paperwork regarding hiring, separation, discipline, training, and compliance. Support is provided to all areas of the Beverage department by ensuring all products are stocked and properly inventoried for accurate cost control. The Assistant Beverage Manager seeks ways to reduce departmental operating costs without affecting the quality of beverage or service, provides guidance and counsel to all beverage employees, and ensures staff is scheduled properly. They resolve guest claims or other disputes between subordinate team members in a fair and patient manner, and ensure prompt, courteous service is consistently provided to all guests. Effective interaction with all departments regarding any issues that arise or need assistance is crucial. The Assistant Beverage Manager keeps the Beverage Manager informed of all pertinent information and irregularities occurring in the Beverage Department, assists the Beverage Manager and Director with projects as required, and performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. This role also assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks, and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.
