About The Position

One of those programs is the highly visible Banana Program, a unique initiative sponsored by Amazon Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) that provides free, healthy, and compostable snacks to employees across North America. As our Assistant Manager, Banana Program, you'll help lead a team dedicated to creating exceptional customer experiences while fostering an engaging and supportive workplace. You'll coach and develop Lead Banistas and Banistas, promote operational excellence, and drive consistency across Banana Stand locations. In this role, you'll partner with leadership to implement best practices, elevate team performance, and ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to outstanding service. Your leadership will directly influence employee growth, customer satisfaction, and the continued success of the program. Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4 years’ experience in customer service or administrative support
  • 3 years' experience as a supervisor or similar management role
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and general Windows navigation
  • Proven excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while always remaining professional and friendly.
  • Maintain sound judgment while managing competing priorities, adapting to changing business needs, meeting deadlines, and remaining calm under pressure, even in ambiguous and stressful situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully connect with employees and the community.
  • An efficient, clear communicator capable of supporting diverse audiences through clear verbal and electronic communication with both small and large groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management, day-to-day direction, and leadership to Community Banana Stands in multiple areas.
  • Execute banana stand events, coordinating operations and communicating with stakeholders/event organizers.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and coverage to ensure stands operate as scheduled, including supporting staffing needs and open/close coverage as necessary.
  • Ensure monthly asset inventory is completed and reconciled.
  • Report, track, and partner with stakeholders on all repairs for stands and bikes.
  • Engage in process improvement and maintenance of documentation including SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Lead and implement change initiatives related to business process and technologies.
  • Support reporting through dashboard maintenance and the collection/analysis of program metrics.
  • Exercise good judgment in areas of responsibility; identify or assist in identifying alternative solutions to problems or situations.
  • Assist with new tasks, processes, or projects as needed to support team requirements, other NWC divisions, and asks from Amazon partners.
  • Assist leadership in interviewing, hiring, and termination discussions.
  • Ensure new team members are appropriately onboarded and trained.
  • Manage staff performance by ensuring procedures, processes, and policies are understood and addressing performance concerns and feedback as needed.
  • Manage timecard approval as well as time off and attendance maintenance for team.
  • Schedule regular team 1:1 syncs to discuss operations and professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment that encourages retention and talent.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization with different job levels and departments.
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders supporting the program, including but not limited to Facilities Management, Property Management, Move Partners, Community Marketing, Amazon Corporate Security (ACS), and NWC support services.
  • Provide elevated customer support for Amazon employees, public guests, and vendor partners.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the program whether it be compliments, comments, or complaints related to the banana program.
