This role may supervise a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians and fills in for the maintenance manager as needed to manage the entire facility maintenance department. The position is responsible for managing the maintenance budget, tracking key performance measures, and overseeing the work order system. It involves planning maintenance projects, scheduling personnel, managing project budgets, and ensuring necessary parts are available. The role also works with the Maintenance Manager to schedule predictive/preventative maintenance and leads Environmental Health & Safety initiatives. Additionally, it manages the inventory/parts for the facility's store-room, assists with capital projects, and coordinates routine service contractors. The position determines material needs, sources and purchases materials, and inspects deliveries. It tracks equipment and building repair costs, analyzes high maintenance cost centers, and works with vendors to consolidate purchases. The role may also manage contracted work by planning tasks, developing scopes of work, and processing contractor bids. Finally, it plans routine and preventative maintenance tasks and maintains organized technical information in the Maintenance Office.
