About The Position

As a maintenance professional with AltaPointe, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert maintenance and repair services for our facility, encompassing both routine tasks and urgent repairs. By utilizing your technical expertise and attention to detail, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our facility and the overall well-being of our consumers.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience in the maintenance field
  • Valid Alabama driver license
  • A good driving record
  • The ability to read and write
  • The ability to use power tools, hand tools, and electrical test equipment such as volt-ohm meters
  • The ability to read blue prints and schematics
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Knowledge of Local, State and Federal Codes relating to Life Safety and facility operations
  • Knowledge of JC standards and standards of accrediting bodies related to facility operations
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures as they relate to Environment of Care
  • Knowledge of Emergency Preparedness, Response and Disaster Recovery
  • Knowledge of Principles of Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services related to property, plant, equipment and vehicle fleet
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and working knowledge with a personal computer
  • Knowledge of Environment of Care compliance software and computerized maintenance management software.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance in Outpatient Programs, Group Homes, Administration buildings and Hospitals as assigned.
  • Performing general maintenance as assigned for AltaPointe facilities.
  • Performing electrical repairs, paints, and replaces broken glass in the building such as windows or doors.
  • Performing carpentry work such as sheetrock repair and other skillful tasks.
  • Maintaining air conditioners, heating and plumbing equipment.
  • Performing other maintenance assignments as necessary.
  • Properly inspecting, servicing and/or repairing all equipment used during maintenance.
  • Advising Facility Manager of needed repairs.
  • Seeking supervision daily.
  • Actively working to enhance skills.
  • Accepting and employing suggestions for improvement.
  • Treating consumers with dignity and respect.
  • Respecting consumers’ privacy and confidentiality.
  • Being pleasant and cooperative with others.
  • Actively participating in Performance Improvement activities.
  • Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Working in a cooperative manner with other AltaPointe employees.
  • Following AltaPointe policies and procedures.
