About The Position
The Town of Tillsonburg is seeking four (4) responsible Assistant Lifeguard/Instructors to assist with aquatic programming for all ages. This role involves safeguarding patrons, assisting with health and safety requirements, and responding to emergencies. This is a seasonal student position with the option to enroll in the OMERS defined benefit pension plan.
Requirements
- Bronze Cross Certification
- Standard First Aid + CPR
- Availability to work after school, evenings, and weekends.
- Must be returning to school in the fall.
- Criminal Record Check required.
- If over eighteen (18) years of age, a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistant instruction in the current Tillsonburg Community Centre Aquatic Programs.
- Endeavor at all times to work as a team with supervisors and fellow staff members.
- Understand and follow all emergency procedures and use of emergency equipment.
- Attend all staff training sessions and staff meetings.
- Interact with members of the public in a helpful and respectful manner.
- Be familiar with all swimming programs and provide accurate and current information to the public.
- Proven track record of reliability, professionalism and good work ethic.
- Performs other related duties as required and designated by the Aquatics Supervisor.
