About The Position

The Town of Orangeville’s Community Services Department is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Swim Instructor/Lifeguards. This is a part-time position, commencing in September 2026. The hours of work are a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours per week.

Requirements

Some secondary school education
Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard (Pool option)
Current Lifesaving Swim Instructors
Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED from an accredited organization
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age
Knowledge of Aquatic provincial legislation and health and safety legislation.

Nice To Haves

Lifesaving Society Instructor is considered an asset.
Lifesaving Society Examiner at Bronze Cross level or higher is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Instructing aquatic programs and performing lifeguard services; enforcing pool facility policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintaining records pertaining to lesson plans and report cards; ensuring the pool deck area is safe for all users and that emergency first aid equipment is in its place.
Maintaining the deck, pool equipment and change rooms; installing buoy lines and other equipment as required.
Ensuring equipment is available when lifeguarding; participating in staff training.
Other duties as assigned.
