About The Position

Golden State Home Repair & Renovations, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Kitchen & Bath Designer to join their talented design team. This role provides invaluable support during all stages of remodeling projects, from conception to installation. The ideal candidate will help deliver high-quality designs that meet customer desires and visions, coordinate responsibilities with the team to meet deadlines, and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include preparing presentations, mood boards, and material boards, creating FF&E schedules, updating important documents, cleaning and organizing the showroom, sourcing furniture, finishes, materials, art, and samples from vendors within budget, and coordinating with vendors, contractors, and fabricators to ensure product availability and pricing. The role also involves using CAD, InDesign, and SketchUp to produce files and renderings, attending client meetings, visiting job sites, and assisting during installations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bathroom and kitchen remodeling, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, space planning, and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
  • Effective and respectful communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a solution-oriented mentality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet all deadlines.
  • Innovative and creative mindset.
  • Motivation to meet goals, keep learning, and take accountability for results.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of work or internship experience in interior design.
  • Experience using Revit and/or SketchUp for renderings.
  • Aptitude for learning new technology and prompting AI.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the design team and provide support during all stages of projects.
  • Deliver high-quality designs that meet customer desires and visions.
  • Prepare presentations, mood boards, and material boards.
  • Create FF&E schedules.
  • Accurately update specification sheets, project files, and the design library.
  • Clean and organize the showroom.
  • Source furniture, finishes, materials, art, and samples from vendors within budget.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and fabricators to check lead times and determine pricing.
  • Produce files and renderings using CAD, InDesign, and SketchUp.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Visit job sites.
  • Assist during installations.
