About The Position

The Assistant, Kindergarten Bachelor’s Degree Level, will provide academic, socio-emotional, and/or behavioral support at the direction of the kindergarten teacher. The Assistant, Kindergarten Bachelor’s Degree Level, will perform instructional and supervisory responsibilities while working with students one-on-one, with a small group of students, or with a whole group of students.

Requirements

• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Writes simple correspondence.
• Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s.
• Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
• Deals with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, talking, and hearing.
• Lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Overhead reaching activities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares materials for instruction.
• Provides planning time for teachers to include outdoor activities, rhythm activities, story time, etc.
• Provides lunchroom assistance.
• Supervises school-based routines such as dismissal, restroom, etc.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
