About The Position

Writopia Lab, an award-winning nonprofit that runs creative writing workshops for children and teens ages 7 to 18, is hiring Assistant Instructors for its Park Slope, Brooklyn location. The organization fosters joy, literacy, and critical thinking through creative writing, providing a safe and engaging space for young writers at every stage of the writing process. Workshops combine literary games, focused writing time, and feedback. Writopia Lab provides extensive training in its teaching method. The position is in person and generally involves 3–10 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on availability and program needs. The current programming runs through the spring trimester, ending in early June. Pay is $25 per hour for assistant teaching and $17 per hour for administrative tasks; most hours are paid at the assistant teaching rate.
