About The Position

AppleTree Prep Macon is seeking a dependable and positive Assistant Infant Teacher to join their team. This role is crucial in shaping a child's earliest learning experiences within a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment. As part of a growing network of early childhood education schools, AppleTree Prep is committed to fostering curiosity, nurturing creativity, and valuing every child. The Assistant Teacher will support the classroom team in creating a positive classroom experience, assisting with daily activities, providing active supervision, and implementing the curriculum. This position offers hands-on classroom experience and opportunities for career growth in early childhood education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Must meet all state-specific education, certification (including CPR/First Aid, where required), licensing, and regulatory requirements, including the ability to pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children, families, and team members.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of classroom procedures and willingness to learn state licensing and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for all children
  • Support daily activities and curriculum implementation alongside the lead teacher
  • Always provide active supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with required ratios
  • Support children's development through positive guidance, interaction, and play
  • Assist with classroom routines, organization, and communication with families, while supporting overall school operations
