About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join the Emergency Department. The position on offer will be a permanent full-time role. Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurses within the ED, you will work as part of an established proactive team supporting Registered and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of safe, quality patient care.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Infection Control procedures and processes
• Appropriate certification as an assistant in nursing – Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or working towards same.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals, patients and relatives/carers
• Skills to assist with the management of stock

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as an AIN in a emergency or high acuity setting is desired

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, meal assistance and emotional support.
• Provide one-on-one patient supervision and support nursing staff with a range of patient care activities as delegated.
• Assist with stock management, equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Ensure clinical areas remain safe, clean and well organised.
• Play an important role in supporting exceptional patient care and positive patient experiences.
