About The Position

United Health Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Nursing Assistant to join our fast-paced Emergency Department team. In this role, you’ll provide direct, hands-on care to patients experiencing urgent and often critical health needs, helping create a calm, supportive environment during some of life’s most stressful moments. As a Nursing Assistant in the Emergency Department, every action you take matters. From assisting with basic care to responding quickly to patient needs, your attentiveness, empathy, and teamwork play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care. Your ability to stay calm under pressure and offer reassurance can make a meaningful difference for patients and their families. The Emergency Department is a dynamic, high-energy environment where no two shifts are the same. You’ll work alongside nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to care for patients with a wide range of conditions—from minor injuries to critical emergencies—across both Wilson and BGH campuses.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse’s Aide program
• Previous hospital or health care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Responsibilities

• Take and document vital signs, promptly reporting any changes
• Support patient flow by preparing rooms and assisting with transfers
• Respond quickly to call lights and patient requests
• Assist with procedures under the direction of nursing staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families
