About The Position

This position is for an Assistant High School Coach for Volleyball. Eligible employees may accrue sick leave and may be eligible for insurance benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) after working a certain number of hours in a school year. Requirements

  • Current First Aid/CPR card required.
  • Current Type II driver's license required.
  • Knowledge/awareness of own cultural identity and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the Athletic Director/Coordinator and the Head Coach.
  • Attend all after school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, etc.
  • Drive district van to transport participants.
  • Cooperate with the head coach, athletic director, and principal in performing duties related to the school athletic program.
  • Assure that players understand the training rule policy.
  • Ensure signed parental permission forms are on file before an athlete begins practice.
  • Support the head coach in conducting the athletic program.
  • Remain loyal to the head coach and the team, potentially compromising personal strategies for the team's overall plan.
  • Attend all practices and be available for staff meetings and scouting assignments.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism.
  • Recognize personal achievements and professional contributions of others.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial, ethnic/cultural, national socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance of facilities and personnel in the absence of the head coach.
  • Report all injuries, misconduct, or unusual situations to the head coach, athletic director, or principal.
  • Assist the head coach in checking in and inventorying all equipment at the end of the season.
  • Assume all duties as assigned by the head coach.
  • Attend rules clinics, workshops, and classes required for WIAA coaching certification.
  • Apply discipline in a fair, firm, and positive manner.
  • Conduct oneself in an ethical manner during practices and contests.
  • Provide information regarding letters and special awards.
