About The Position

As the nation’s first adoption and trauma specific residential treatment center, Calo Programs provides a supportive environment where treatment is combined with academics and adventure to help young people overcome challenges such as trauma, family issues, and mental health concerns. As an Assistant House Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting and guiding the youth in our care along with fostering growth in your team. This isn’t just about supervising – it’s about building relationships and making a positive impact in the clients lives and your team. You’ll spend your time with students in various activities like cultural outings, experiential therapies like art, music, yoga, outdoor adventures and many other on and off-campus activities, all while ensuring their safety and promoting personal growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Can accept High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 + years experience working in behavioral health or residential treatment settings.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Combination of 1 -2 years prior management and/or RTC experience required.
  • Prior Behavioral Health Experience REQUIRED.
  • Valid driver’s licenses for the state of employment and ability to be covered by organization insurance.
  • Have experience in a leadership role and able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
  • Complete CPR and SCM certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support your team lead to oversee and support shift staff and mentors, lead by example, and recognize exceptional performance and share in all daily home operations.
  • Develop and foster trusting relationships with the Young Adults (18 – 20 years old) in our care, providing mental health support and interventions to promote improved emotional management, and teaching life skills important to this transitional stage of life.
  • Conduct ongoing training to continuously develop team members.
  • Evaluate staff performance regularly and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth shift operations and assist with shift coverage as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication during shift changes and ensure safety compliance through drills and protocols.
