Assistant Hourly Trainers (AHTs) will work directly with new hires and bid trainees as they are working towards achieving qualification on their new job. Each AHT will be assigned team members; they will be responsible to track their performance and progress during their training period. AHTs will communicate daily with their team members about their training progress and any other issues that arise during their acclimation to the new job. AHTs will report directly to the training coordinator, but will also provide feedback to the supervisor, general supervisor and the superintendent of their area. They will attend weekly retention meetings with plant staff to discuss any issues with retention. In addition to these duties, AHTs could be assigned special projects or tasks that would help prepare them for any future promotions.
