About The Position
The Assistant D.U.G Manager supports the D.U.G Manager in leading all aspects of the Drive Up & Go (online grocery pickup/delivery) operation. This role ensures efficient order fulfillment, exceptional customer service, and achievement of productivity, accuracy, and sales goals. The Assistant D.U.G Manager helps train and develop associates while maintaining compliance with company standards and operational procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous retail, grocery, or e-commerce fulfillment experience preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily D.U.G operations, including order picking, staging, and handoff/delivery
- Ensure all orders are fulfilled accurately, on time, and meet quality standards
- Monitor order flow and adjust staffing or priorities to meet demand
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging and storage areas
- Support shrink control procedures and proper handling of perishable and non-perishable items
- Deliver a seamless and positive customer experience for pickup and delivery orders
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure substitutions and out-of-stock communication meet company expectations
- Promote customer loyalty through service recovery and engagement
- Assist in hiring, training, and coaching D.U.G associates
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and accountability
- Model strong leadership behaviors and promote a positive team environment
- Ensure adherence to scheduling, attendance, and labor guidelines
- Help track and improve key performance metrics such as fill rate, on-time readiness, and pick accuracy
- Support labor planning to meet productivity goals and control costs
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflow
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies
- Maintain a safe work environment and reinforce safe practices
- Follow all regulatory requirements and company procedures
