Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is seeking a dynamic professional for the Assistant Harbormaster position. This role is responsible for overseeing vessel traffic controllers, managing the Harbormaster office, and maintaining records of vessel and cargo activities, while providing support to the Harbormaster. The position involves ensuring the proper compilation and reporting of data, maintaining effective communication with maritime agencies, overseeing the Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS), reviewing vessel movements for billing accuracy, assisting with berth assignments, and directing programs for compliance with Port rules and regulations. The Assistant Harbormaster will also maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, promote positive working relations with the maritime community, and represent the Port's interests. This role provides essential communication and coordination for vessel movements, navigation assistance, and emergency situations. The Assistant Harbormaster supervises Vessel Traffic Controllers, manages the department's budget, evaluates staff performance, and ensures adherence to Port policies. The position requires driving a vehicle as necessary and working required hours/shifts. CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within the first year is required, along with Tier 1 status designation.
