About The Position

Lifesteps is hiring a full-time Teacher Aide (also known as Child Care Assistant or Assistant Group Supervisor) to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the new preschool classroom inside Butler County Community College (BC3) in Butler, PA. This position works during the school year only, with summers off. The role involves the care and supervision of children aged 3 to 5 years old, assisting with lesson planning and creating activities, teaching early education concepts, supervising play, and communicating with parents about the child's day. This is a temporary position for Intern KH with a varying schedule.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Two years of experience working with children (paid or unpaid, e.g., Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children)
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field OR 60 credits

Responsibilities

• Care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• Assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• Teaching early education concepts (colors, letters, numbers, etc.)
• Supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• Informing parents about the child's day
