About The Position

Lifesteps is hiring a Temp Assistant Group Supervisor Sub to work in the new classroom at BC3 this fall. Lifesteps is growing! A new preschool program is opening next school year within the Butler County Community College location in Butler, PA. Lifesteps is hiring a full-time Teacher Aide (also known as Child Care Assistant or Assistant Group Supervisor) to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the preschool classroom inside BC3. This position works during the school year only. Summers off work.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children - can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps, Church Nursery, Babysitting, Bible School, Volunteering with children, etc.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable state clearances
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field OR 60 credits

Responsibilities

• the care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• teaching early education concepts (colors, letters, numbers, etc.)
• supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• informing parents about the child's day
