As an Assistant Group Leader, you’ll work closely with the Site Director and team to deliver high-quality programming that meets YMCA standards and New Hampshire state licensing requirements. Requirements

  • 3 credits in Early Learning or 600 documented hours working with children in a licensed childcare setting.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to engage and supervise groups of children in a structured environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive, patient, and energetic approach to youth development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or school setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support daily program operations in alignment with YMCA standards and NH state licensing requirements
  • Provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for youth
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff; actively supervise at all times
  • Lead and participate in activities, including setup, snack distribution, and cleanup
  • Assist with attendance tracking, headcounts, and behavior management
  • Model YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies following YMCA procedures
  • Collaborate with the Site Director and team to support program quality and communication
  • Support extended programming such as school vacations, snow days, and family engagement events
  • Demonstrate flexibility and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
