As the Assistant Grocery Manager, you will play a key role in assisting customers in making healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service. This involves managing and leading one of the busiest teams in the store. You will assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Your responsibilities will include ordering and inventory controls, ensuring product quality, and supervising the Grocery team. You will effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. You will also assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, the highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience. Additionally, you will help in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team, and be responsible for unloading and sorting store deliveries. A crucial part of the role is ensuring the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validating that other Grocery team members are also aware of and following these procedures.
