About The Position

The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of day-to-day operations, including golf, retail, and special events/tournaments. The Assistant Golf Professional reports to the Head Golf Professional. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service, assisting guests with inquiries, meeting sales expectations, collaborating with other departments, and maintaining the golf shop. A key responsibility is coordinating and assisting with golf tournaments and special events, which includes booking groups, preparing materials, managing logistics, and handling post-tournament tasks. The position also involves managing daily tee sheets, attending meetings, and teaching golf lessons or clinics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experienced and passionate about the game of golf
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years in the golf and/or hospitality industry
  • PGA membership
  • Ability to maneuver and park vehicles safely and accurately, including larger vehicles, in diverse parking environments and tight spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service in every guest interaction while promoting golf programs, activities, and services.
  • Assist guests with tee times, course conditions, golf events, and other golf-related inquiries.
  • Meet sales, rental, and service performance expectations as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage and Guest Services teams to provide a seamless guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked golf shop, including the sales floor, inventory, and storage areas.
  • Assist with receiving, pricing, merchandising, and selling golf shop merchandise and supplies.
  • Coordinate and assist with golf tournaments and special events, including booking groups of fewer than 24 players, creating and maintaining event records, confirming player details, and identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare tournament materials, including scorecards, pairing sheets, cart assignments, and event documentation, while coordinating event logistics, contests, scoring, awards, billing, staffing, and pace of play.
  • Complete post-tournament responsibilities, including event reconciliation, reporting, cleanup, updating event records, processing final invoicing, and following up on outstanding guest payments.
  • Manage daily tee sheets to maximize course utilization, perform audits, resolve scheduling discrepancies, confirm player counts, and communicate changes as needed.
  • Attend sales and operational meetings and assist with golf bookings and event coordination.
  • Teach individual golf lessons and conduct clinics as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional.
