This position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The role requires adherence to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, modeling non-discriminatory practices, and assuming complete responsibility for the conduct and teachings of the team. Availability for practices and games from Monday through Saturday, including some holidays, is expected. The coach will supervise equipment, establish positive relationships, attend required meetings, and conduct organizational meetings for athletes. Injury protocols, roster management, score reporting, and communication regarding cancellations or incidents are also key responsibilities. The coach must supervise team members after practices/games and complete end-of-season reports, complying with all relevant regulations and handbooks. Decision-making authority is within the scope of the team, with broader issues escalated to the Athletic Director. Player assessment, modeling sports-like behavior, and participation in special events like parent's night and banquets are expected. Support tasks include distributing and maintaining eligibility forms and emergency data cards. Additional duties involve attending staff development and professional activities to improve coaching performance.
